Denise Worrell discusses digital transformation and consumerism in healthcare at HIMSS 25
Earlier this month, Denise Worrell, Principal, Innovation + Transformation, attended HIMSS 2025 and the Smart Health Transformation Forum in Las Vegas where she delivered a presentation “Designing a Resilient, Adaptive System for Tomorrow’s Consumers” and moderated a panel on the impact of digital transformation across the healthcare landscape.
In her keynote, Denise discussed the flaws, limitations and opportunities the current consumer-centric healthcare model faces, and how challenging traditional assumptions and ways of delivering care can yield a more resilient and adaptive healthcare system that balances new tech developments with efficiency, humanity and meaningful, quality care.
Her presentation also charted a path toward building a more adaptive future that makes the best use of technologies like biomimetic systems, biologic innovations and preventive care models.
Andy Chu, SVP of Product + Technology Incubation at Providence Health and Rajesh Patel, VP of Digital Patient Experience at Mass General Brigham joined Denise on-stage for an in-depth conversation about how digital health transformations continue to shape care delivery and where (and how) the unintended consequences of digital health impact the patient experience overall. The expert panel shared their perspectives and how we might work to truly empower patients as healthcare consumers without overwhelming an already complex system.
As Denise continues to present at conferences across the country, we’ll be sure to share insights along the way.

Doing great work is never a solo act.
